Vassnes is assisting Aibel Haugesund with the new floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Petrojarl Knarr. This is a floating vessel used by the offshore oil and gas industry for the production and processing of hydrocarbons, and for the storage of oil. Vassnes will assist in the project management of the electrical installation and performing big parts of the electrical work on board.
The Vessel is 256 meters long and 48 metres wide, and has a storage capacity of 800.000 barrels. It can be able to produce a total of 63.000 barrels a day. Vessel Owner is Teekay, and it will be on contract with BG group for operating on the Knarr field.
